Movement Disorders

The Movement Disorders Clinic at the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health is the clinical component of the Pacific Parkinson’s Research Centre (PPRC). PPRC is a multidisciplinary centre dedicated to the diagnosis and management of Parkinson’s disease and related disorders, including tremor and dystonia, and has been designated as a Center of Excellence by the National Parkinson Foundation in the US.

In addition to diagnosis, treatment and counseling of patients, the clinic conducts clinical research including MRI, EEG, GVS, PET imaging and assessment of genetic information.

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that worsens with time. With a primary focus on Parkinson’s disease, our research is aimed at slowing or halting the progression of the disease and improving quality of life.


The Movement Disorders Clinic provides patient services and is operated by Vancouver Coastal Health. To visit the Movement Disorders Clinic, a referral from either a family doctor or another specialist is required.
